Local 1036 2010 Endorsements

Below are candidates endorsed by Local 1036 running for elections this November 2, 2010. Each candidate was interviewed by Local 1036's Legislative-Political Action Committee (LPAC) comprised of Local rank and file members. After LPAC interview and recommendation, the Executive Board voted to endorse each candidate.

 

Linda Greenstein

State Senate, District 14, Mercer/Middlesex County

Representing Hamilton Twp, West Windsor, Cranbury, Monroe, Jamesburg, Plainsboro, and South Brunswick. Linda has been a steady ally for union members, both public and private sector in her District. She has a 100% voting record on labor issues and has been enthusiastically endorsed by ALL UNIONS in the District.  

 

Arthur Schenker+

Atlantic County Freeholder at Large

Art is a lifetime union member, belonging to UA Local 322 in Atlantic County. He is an officer of the Atlantic-Cape May Central Labor Council. In his work with the CLC and in interviews with Local 1036 members, Art is committed to defending public employees' contracts, the right to collectively bargain, and to secure and decent pensions and health care. 

 

Nelson Thompson*+

Cumberland County Freeholder

Nelson currently serves as Assistant to the President for the International Painters' Union and is an incumbent County Freeholder. In his work as Political Coordinator for his union, Nelson understands the role unions can play politically as well as economically, to protect their membership during difficult times. He has worked with CWA in the past and is bringing hard work and his commitment to create jobs to his Freeholder position.  

 

Jason Allen+

Pemberton Twp Council

Jason is a CWA Local 1036 member currently working for the State of NJ. He is running for Council for the first time after serving on the Twp Environmental Commission for several years. CWA 1036 members can support one of our own running for office when Jason will bring his commitment to community development and strong sense of public service to the Council.
